Collections

Collections is responsible for the collection and management of delinquent student accounts and Perkins Loans.

A delinquent account occurs when a student fails to pay an account balance by the due date. The University may pursue the collection of delinquent accounts receivable through the use of lawful procedures. Students with delinquent accounts will have a hold placed on their account and may not be allowed to register, receive transcripts, or receive a diploma. The account hold will remain until the debt is paid, settled, or otherwise resolved.

Collection efforts may include contracting the services of a collection agency. Students whose accounts have been referred to a collection agency will be responsible for reimbursing the university for the fees of any collection agency, which may be based on a percentage of the delinquent account balance. Students will also be liable for all reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs and expenses incurred by the university in its collection efforts. Failure to pay your student account balance could result in an adverse credit bureau report.
