Parent Information

As a parent or guardian of a UCF student, we understand that you may be directly or indirectly involved in the payment of a student’s tuition and fees. We also know you may have questions about Florida Prepaid, third party billing, due dates, deferments, etc. Most of your questions or concerns can be addressed by the corresponding sections of our website. You are also welcome to call Student Account Services with any general questions about these topics. However, in regards to specific information about a student’s account, we follow the federal regulations contained in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). For more information visit the Registrar’s Office website or the FERPA webpage at the U.S. Department of Education website.

The FERPA regulations extend to all forms of communication including email, phone calls, and in person communications. Students who wish to speak to a representative about their accounts can contact Student Account Services through any of these means. Identity verification will be required. Students have the ability to grant authorized access to parents, guardians, or other parties through their myUCF account. Please review the Student Authorized Release of Records section below.

Please note that official communication from UCF offices (including academic advising, Office of Student Financial Assistance, Registrar’s Office, College of Graduate Studies, and Student Accounts Services) will be sent to the student’s Knights Email account.

Student Authorized Release of Records

The record release authorization allows a student to log into their myUCF account and grant authorization for the university to release specified academic and financials records to a specified person or organization. This is the only way for a student to allow a parent, guardian, or other party to be able to discuss information about the student account with a representative. Students wishing to authorize a records release must complete the authorization process, which can be found in the student center, prior to the release of any records. For more information visit the Registrar’s Office website.
